Timileyin Ajayi: "No Regrets" After Gruesome Murder of Girlfriend

Timileyin Ajayi, 32, has been detained at the Nasarawa State Police Criminal Investigation Department for allegedly murdering 24-year-old corps member Salome Adaidu. Adaidu, who was serving in Abuja, reportedly visited Ajayi at his Papalana residence in New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, where the tragic incident occurred.

Ajayi was arrested on January 12 while attempting to dispose of Adaidu’s severed head. The suspect was paraded alongside the knife and machetes allegedly used in the crime at the Nasarawa State Police Command headquarters.

Timileyin Ajayi Confesses to the Murder

During an exclusive interview with Channels Television, Ajayi admitted to the murder, describing it as unplanned and driven by jealousy. “I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time,” he stated. “It’s not something I planned. It happened because she was cheating.”

Ajayi claimed he discovered Adaidu’s alleged infidelity through her phone, which he said triggered his actions. “She hides things from me. I saw her chats with other guys, and that was why I decided to act.”

When asked if he regretted his actions, Ajayi said, “I don’t have any regrets. Life is reciprocal, and I believed we were compatible. That’s why I don’t regret what happened.”

Family of Salome Adaidu Demand Justice

The family of the deceased denied any knowledge of a relationship between Salome Adaidu and Timileyin Ajayi. Her sister, Esther Adaidu, expressed shock and demanded justice. “We don’t know this so-called Timi. We never met him until we heard he murdered and dismembered my sister. Justice must be served,” she said.

Salome’s uncle, Samson Adaji Adaidu, narrated the horrifying details of the crime. “He butchered her body into over 50 pieces. It seemed he was preparing it for consumption, as the remains were found in six polythene bags.”

Police Assure Public of Justice Against Timileyin Ajayi

SP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer, reassured the public and the grieving family that justice would be served. “The investigation is ongoing. Once concluded, Ajayi will face prosecution. Any additional complaints against him will also be investigated,” he said.

Controversy Around Timileyin Ajayi’s Identity

While some reports labelled Ajayi as a gospel singer, he identified himself as a cryptocurrency trader during his interview.
